“Like most people, our dog Frank is like a family member to us and we love him so dearly. New to the Halifax area, we were determined to find Frank the best care possible. After some research and a survey of the veterinarians in the Halifax area, we decided on Russell Lake for both their excellent reputation and reasonable costs. Our visit yesterday affirmed our decision. Dr. Barkai is incredibly patient, sweet, and caring with Frank. He has never had such a positive and calm experience at a veterinarian clinic before. Her patience and compassionate disposition ensure us that his health is in the best care. Plus, she always makes a personal phone call to check up and see how our guy is doing. Honestly – sweestest vet ever! We will definitely be coming back here and would recommend them for your animal’s care.”

“On a Friday evening, our cat some how got her let entangled in a blanket.We phoned a few vets but they had no appointments. Finally, I found Russell Lake Animal Hospital on the web. They said to bring her in right away, examined her, relieved her pain and gave us directions to bring her back in for an x-ray. The vet even gave us her phone number if we needed her during the night. We thought that was awfully kind. Thank you for your care!”
“My experience with Russell Lake animal hospital bar none has been the best Vet clinic in a long time for me. My Vet has been super along with her staff. I usually accept new staff when my vets move on with their lives, however after rescuing at least 15 cats in the past 10 years I assumed I would receive the same service from the staff when my vet moved on. I did not feel comfortable as when you take on another stray, bills come with it. This leads to stress & concern and I did not feel right in staying as I felt “strays” didn’t sound good to them. Russell Lake’s employees show compassion when you walk in the door are only too happy to listen to your concerns for your pet. Dr. Adva Barkai-Ronayne and her staff are superb to my 4 cats AND ME.”
